Legacy Threads is a woven garment factory in Kapashera, New Delhi, making women's, men's and kidswear for growing brands from 100 pieces per style. Samples are sent internationally by courier, and you deal directly with the owner by WhatsApp and email from sampling to dispatch.

From the floor
A Paris-based womenswear label came to us with a tight sampling window. We finished prototypes in 10 working days while sourcing the fabric — with the certificates they required — in parallel. Final samples, with custom prints, embroidery and finishing details, were shipped within three weeks of starting. We were commissioned to make 12 samples, charged at €45 per sample including the custom printing and embroidery.
How it works

100 pieces per style; built for runs of 100–5,000 pieces per style.
Sampling
5–7 working days, with up to three corrections before bulk.
Bulk lead time
Bulk shipment in 4–5 weeks from the approved sample.
Production route
Full-package with fabric sourced by us, or CMT with client-supplied fabric.
Sampling starts with brief and tech pack review, followed by a base pattern, a fit sample in muslin and up to three corrections before bulk. Pattern making, cutting, stitching, finishing, QC and packing are all in-house. Seven-stage quality control runs from size-set approval to AQL 2.5 final inspection before dispatch.

Heavy embellishment
We focus on well-made woven garments, not heavily embellished pieces.
Runs under 100 pieces
Our minimum is 100 pieces per style.
Passing the blame
If something goes wrong at our end, we own it and fix it.
US import duty
As of September 2026, clothing from India entering the US pays the standard duty for its product code plus a 10% additional tariff. For many woven garments that adds up to roughly 25–30% of the declared value. US tariffs on India have changed several times since 2025, so confirm the current rate for your product code with your customs broker before you price a collection. Always On
Rakesh Sareen started in apparel exports in 2010, working out of South Africa around the football World Cup. He went on to found Abhishti, an Indian ethnicwear label, and later set up Legacy Threads to fix what he saw as the real gap for Indian fashion brands: reliable manufacturing, with a team that is always on.
